The sauce that you drizzle over the fruit only heightens all the flavors and it tastes delicious. This easy fruit salad gets even better the longer the fruit sits and soaks up the glaze.

We serve this fresh fruit salad at barbecues, dinners, swim parties, or even just a snack or dessert on a hot summer day, when it’s way too hot to make cookies or any warm dessert.

The glaze on this salad is so refreshing and incredibly easy to make. You are going to love this simple twist on fruit salad.

Using seasonal fruit in this Fresh Fruit Salad with Citrus Glaze makes it so delicious! It doesn’t get much better than ripe strawberries and juicy pineapple in the summer, so you know this fruit salad is going to be a hit.

Start by washing and drying all of the fruit.

Cut the pineapple into bite-sized pieces, slice the strawberries, peel and dice the kiwi, and take the grapes off the vine.

Put all of the fruit in a large mixing bowl.

Gently toss all the fruit together, being sure not to smash any of the blueberries.

In a saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together orange juice, lemon juice, brown sugar and orange zest.

Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens up a little bit.

Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla extract then let cool. You could even place the saucepan in the fridge to help the glaze cool faster.

Pour cooled glaze over fruit and gently toss to coat the fruit.

Winter fruits can be a little tricky, when it comes to fruit salads. However, you could easily add any of your favorite winter fruits, and still use this amazing glaze, to pour on top.

Ingredients

  • cups orange juice
  • cup lemon juice
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 orange zested
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups fresh cubed pineapple
  • 2 cups strawberries sliced
  • 3 kiwis peeled and diced
  • 2 cups green seedless grapes
  • 2 cups red seedless grapes
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together orange juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer until slightly thickened, about five minutes.

  • Remove from heat, add vanilla extract and set aside to cool.

  • Combine all fruit in a large bowl.

  • Pour cooled glaze over top and gently fold in until fruit is evenly coated.

  • Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in the fridge until serving.

    You could easily prepare all of the fruit and the glaze and then add the glaze an hour or two before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
